Construction of Key Bridge of Nanning-Shenzhen HSR Makes Progress

Construction of the main body of the Liulv Yongjiang River Bridge in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been completed.

With a semi-floating structure, the 622-meter bridge spans across the East and West banks of the Yongjiang River, and has a main span of 320 meters.

China Railway 14th Bureau Group Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, was responsible for the project.

The bridge is a key section of the Nanning-Yulin high-speed railway (HSR) in Guangxi.

So far, all of the underground work of the railway related to roadbeds, bridges, and tunnels have been completed, 76 percent of the tracks have been laid and more than half of the station building’s interior decoration has been completed. Eighty percent of the communication, signal, electric and electrified engineering has been done.

With a total length of 193.31 kilometers, the main line of the Nanning-Yulin HSR is the first regionally-invested high-speed railway in Guangxi with a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

It is scheduled to start service within this year, and is expected to shorten travel time between Nanning to Yulin to 50 minutes.

It will play a key role in optimizing the comprehensive transportation structure of the region, building a modern comprehensive transportation system, and promoting the connectivity between the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone in Guangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as realizing coordinated development of the Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt.
