Largest Natural Gas Processing Plant in Bohai Oilfield Starts Operation

China National Offshore Oil Corporation on March 18 announced that the Binzhou Natural Gas Processing Plant, the largest of its kind in the Bohai Oilfield, has started to supply natural gas to the Bohai-Rim region.

It is expected to provide stable and reliable clean energy to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Bohai-Rim region, which is of great significance in guaranteeing China’s national energy security and optimizing its energy structure.

Located in Binzhou, East China’s Shandong Province, the Binzhou Natural Gas Processing Plant is a key land-based terminal supporting project of the Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field, the first gas field with reserves of 100 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the Bohai Sea.

It is a major project of construction of the country’s natural gas supply, storage and marketing system.

Featuring facilities for natural gas processing, carbon dioxide recycling, secondary product tanks and truck loading, the plant is expected to be capable of handling 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.

Gas developed from the Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field will be transmitted to the plant through a 128-kilometer pipeline, which is the longest undersea gas transmission pipeline to the onshore area.
