Bumper Wheat Harvest Kicks Off in East China’s Huzhou
The summer harvest season is in full swing across parts of eastern China, as mature wheat fields welcome large-scale harvesting. In Donglin Town, Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, more than 17,000 mu of wheat fields have entered the harvesting period, marking a key stage of the local grain production cycle.
Against the backdrop of favourable weather, local growers are seizing the fine days to accelerate harvesting operations. Modern harvesters shuttle back and forth across the golden fields, efficiently completing cutting, threshing and grain collection in one pass. The fields present a bustling scene of a bumper harvest, with dry and sunny conditions helping to ensure high grain quality and smooth post-harvest drying and storage.

Wheat planting forms an important part of the agricultural layout in Wuxing District. Donglin Town, as a major grain-producing area in the region, maintains stable wheat cultivation and promotes the use of modern farming machinery to improve production efficiency. The current harvest not only lays a solid foundation for ensuring local grain supply, but also supports the stable operation of the regional agricultural economy.
Local agricultural authorities have made full preparations for the harvest period. Technical guidance and services are in place to assist growers with machinery operation, pest control and grain drying. Relevant departments have also strengthened coordination to ensure the smooth progress of harvesting, transportation and storage, minimising losses and maximising yields.
As the harvesting work continues, the town will follow up with post-harvest management and arrange subsequent crop planting in due course. The stable and orderly summer grain harvest reflects the resilience of local agricultural production and provides strong support for maintaining grain security and promoting high-quality agricultural development in the region.
