Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Upgrades Agricultural Machinery to Boost Spring Ploughing

In recent years, various divisions and cities of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC) have continuously upgraded their agricultural machinery, with precision seeders, rotary tillage and interplanting machines, and transplanters fully promoted. This not only improves production efficiency, stabilizes and increases crop quality and yield, but also lays a solid foundation for the downstream harvesting link, according to Xinhua News Agency.

At Fangcaohu Farm in Wujiaqu City, the 6th Division of the XPCC, all large and medium-sized tractors are equipped with the Beidou Navigation System, and 630 cotton precision seeders have all been inspected and maintained. This year, the farm plans to plant 591,000 mu of cotton and has entered the sowing stage. "Agricultural planting, production and processing are closely linked. A solid and good spring ploughing lays the foundation for more efficient harvesting and processing," said Wu Libin, Secretary of the Party Branch of the 33rd Company of Fangcaohu Farm. "Thanks to the continuously upgraded agricultural machinery, the 13,000 mu of land in the company can be sown in a week."

Focusing on the entire agricultural production chain for spring ploughing, giving full play to the role of agricultural machinery is the key. To this end, the XPCC has strived to build a "full-coverage and all-round extension" agricultural machinery service system, integrated agricultural machinery resources, and implemented the model of "unified scheduling, unified operation, unified standards and unified services", promoting full mechanization in the whole process of ploughing, sowing, management, harvesting, transportation and storage, according to China.org.cn.

On the basis of ensuring grain production, the XPCC also focuses on market demand and cultivates agricultural product brands during spring ploughing to ensure stable income increase for growers. At present, characteristic crops of the XPCC such as cotton have achieved "orders first, brand quality improvement and simultaneous production and sales". The 71st Regiment of the 4th Division, taking advantage of its location in the "golden seed production area" of the Ili River Valley, has built a complete industrial chain of seed corn from "improved seed R&D, large-scale planting, intensive processing to brand sales", with an annual output value of 240 million yuan, according to Xinhua News Network. Currently, local sowing is in full swing in accordance with high standards.

At the Summer Black grape planting base of the 81st Regiment in Shuanghe City, the 5th Division of the XPCC, the grapevines after overwintering have been successively put on shelves. The 5th Division and Shuanghe City have sent grid-based technical service teams to provide on-site technical guidance in the fields, striving to stabilize output and improve quality. "The Summer Black grapes of the 5th Division have formed a brand advantage in the market. We must ensure quality in accordance with technical specifications, maintain and make good use of the brand," said Xu Yingce, a worker from the 4th Company of the 81st Regiment.

According to China Energy Network, the XPCC’s efforts in agricultural machinery upgrading and industrial chain improvement have effectively promoted the high-quality development of agriculture. The 71st Regiment has also cooperated with Tarim University to establish a "Xinjiang Kekedala Corn Green High-Yield Science and Technology Courtyard", providing strong technical support for seed corn production. With the continuous advancement of agricultural modernization, the XPCC is steadily advancing rural revitalization through scientific and technological empowerment.
