In Henan Province, the application of intelligent equipment and technologies has made spring field management more intelligent and efficient. In the wheat fields of Suixian County, Shangqiu City, intelligent irrigation robots shuttle between the fields, ensuring precise water supply for crops. In Wuji Village, Huangdimiao Township, Linying County, Luohe City, planters use plant protection drones to carry out pest control operations, improving efficiency and reducing labor intensity. In Huaiyang District, Zhoukou City, a smart management and protection platform realizes real-time monitoring and intelligent regulation of pump station operation, soil moisture and various sprinkler irrigation equipment status.

Cross-border cooperation is helping rural areas thrive. In Lianhua Village, Nandan County, Guangxi, a cross-border team joins hands with local villagers to start a new year of passion fruit planting. Despite the lingering spring cold, the enthusiasm for labor remains high. The team plants not only passion fruit seedlings but also hopes for a better life, which will bear more sweet fruits in the years of hard work and light the way to prosperity for more villagers.
Post-95 agricultural practitioners are bringing new vitality to spring ploughing. In the wheat fields of Mengcun Hui Autonomous County, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, young returnees who graduated from university and started their own businesses lead their teams in topdressing and aerial defense operations. Equipped with professional agricultural knowledge learned at university, they have mastered drone aerial defense technology proficiently, becoming “technological new farmers” at the front line of spring ploughing.
Scientific and technological innovation is unlocking the code for high-yield rapeseed. In the modern agricultural science and technology innovation demonstration park of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, more than 40,000 rapeseed resources are in full bloom. The field is divided into regular small squares of several square meters, each planting a different rapeseed variety. In recent years, the academy has continuously focused on rapeseed breeding innovation, successfully cultivating a number of leading varieties at the ministerial and provincial levels, and these 40,000 “gene squares” have injected solid strength into China’s oil security.
