China Grain Reserves Corporation Completes 2025 Medium and Late Rice Minimum Purchase Price Acquisition
As the main implementation entity of the minimum purchase price policy, China Grain Reserves Corporation (Sinograin) has successfully concluded the 2025 medium and late rice minimum purchase price acquisition by the end of February this year, following its approval by relevant authorities to launch the implementation plan in eligible regions across Henan, Hunan and Heilongjiang provinces.
A total of 140 minimum purchase price storage points were activated throughout the process, effectively safeguarding the interests of grain farmers and reinforcing the bottom line that ensures farmers can "sell all the grain they grow".
Since 2025, Sinograin has faced practical challenges such as expanded storage scale, widespread distribution of storage points, and difficulties in storage decision-making and scheduling. To address these issues, the corporation has innovatively developed and applied an intelligent "map-based operation" system for grain storage and acquisition.

Through visual functions including electronic maps and data dashboards, the system displays real-time and intuitive information such as warehouse capacity, storage layout, capacity consumption, acquisition progress and vehicle queuing, enabling full-process oversight of grain acquisition on a single map. This has continuously improved the accuracy of storage decision-making and scheduling, providing strong support for upgrading the modernisation level of storage management and better serving farmers.
During the acquisition process, Sinograin’s directly affiliated enterprises have taken various measures to optimise services for farmers and effectively protect their interests. Its Heilongjiang branch and affiliated enterprises in the region have actively promoted the "Hui San Nong" App, allowing grain farmers to make online appointments for grain sales, reducing travel, queuing time and enabling faster transactions. Currently, the online appointment rate exceeds 90%.
In response to extreme weather such as severe winter cold, acquisition points have set up farmer service stations, providing grain sellers with rest areas, free tea, meals and common medicines as thoughtful services.
China achieved another bumper grain harvest in 2025, with the autumn grain acquisition carried out in an orderly and effective manner. Data recently released by the State Administration of Grain and Material Reserves shows that various grain operators nationwide have purchased more than 300 million tonnes of autumn grain so far, a relatively high level in recent years. At present, the acquisition of medium and late rice in China has basically been completed, with a total purchase volume of 103 million tonnes.
