Dual-power intelligent tamping vehicle Guoneng Jinfeihao enters regular operation on China Energy Group’s private railway lines

According to domestic industrial news outlets, China Energy Group has fully completed full-line tamping operations inside Huojialiang Tunnel along the Shenshuo Railway, marking the formal roll-out of regular commercial use for the dual-power intelligent tamping vehicle named Guoneng Jinfeihao across all self-owned railway routes under the group’s management.

On-site operational footage captures maintenance teams carrying out mechanical screening work within the confines of Huojialiang Tunnel using the newly deployed specialist rail machinery.

This rail maintenance vehicle stands as the country’s first piece of engineering equipment capable of full-range working operations inside tunnel environments. It was jointly developed by the railway equipment subsidiary of China Energy Group and CRCC High-Tech Equipment Corporation Limited.

Operators can seamlessly switch the machine between fully electric drive and hybrid power modes, a functional upgrade that delivers tangible improvements to onsite working conditions. The adjustable power configuration cuts overall energy consumption and exhaust emissions during track maintenance tasks, while lifting standards of operational safety, construction quality and working efficiency simultaneously.

The machine fills a long-standing technical gap within domestic mechanised tunnel maintenance equipment development. Its complete design and operating framework can be replicated and promoted across the wider rail sector to drive iterative upgrades of track maintenance machinery nationwide.

Rail operators across the industry may adopt the dual-power technical blueprint in forthcoming equipment procurement and upgrade cycles to advance low-carbon, high-efficiency tunnel upkeep on national freight and passenger rail networks.
