Conch Group Advances Traditional Industrial Upgrade under “One Foundation, Five Sectors” Model

According to Anhui Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission on 21 October 2026, Conch Group pursues intelligent, low-carbon and integrated development. The group deploys digital tools to renovate its traditional operations, builds low-carbon capacity and explores new growth areas through cross-sector integration, rolling out its high-quality development framework known as “One Foundation, Five Sectors”.

The group upgrades its core cement business with artificial intelligence and industrial internet technologies. It operates the world’s first full-process intelligent cement plant, which runs with automatic control across the whole production line and achieves an automation rate of 99.3 per cent. A dedicated cement and building materials AI large model, jointly developed with Huawei, is deployed in more than forty operational scenarios.

The model delivers a clinker strength prediction accuracy above 90 per cent and cuts standard coal consumption by a further one per cent against the first-tier energy efficiency benchmark. The CloudWorker industrial internet platform developed by the firm is listed as a national specialised industrial internet platform. Unmanned mining vehicles, totalling over 200 units, operate across eighteen mines.

The group has poured more than 26 billion yuan into research and development over the past five years via national key laboratories and national-level corporate technology centres. Its self-developed large-scale equipment is exported to markets including the United States and Brazil.

Low-carbon transformation forms another pillar of the group’s expansion. It carries out carbon reduction, carbon control and carbon sequestration along the production chain. The group has built the world’s first carbon capture and purification facility for flue gas at cement kiln outlets and the world’s first cement plant that requires no purchased grid power.

It has developed fifty national-level green mines and forty-four national-level green factories. Its new energy portfolio reaches an installed capacity of 1,200 megawatts, generating 1.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year.

The environmental division handles industrial and domestic hazardous waste, fly ash washing and resource recycling, running nearly one hundred facilities across twenty-one provincial-level regions with an annual treatment capacity exceeding 11 million tonnes.

Cross-sector integration opens fresh operational channels. Building on its cement base, the group fosters new formats and deepens links between advanced manufacturing and modern services. It develops consumer building materials, supplying tile adhesives, waterproof coatings and prefabricated housing components for home renovation markets. This shift repositions the enterprise from a materials supplier to a provider of residential living solutions.

Strategic reorganisations of Anhui Wanwei and Shanshan Corporation support the expansion of its new materials segment to create a second growth track.
