State Grid smart EV charging network records over 249 million kWh of power delivery during National Day holiday
According to State Grid Corporation of China, the smart vehicle internet platform delivered more than 249 million kilowatt-hours of electricity between 1 October and 7 October. Both the average daily charging volume and the average daily charging volume on motorways set new records, exceeding 35.59 million kWh and 10.89 million kWh respectively, representing year-on-year rises of 18.05 per cent and 26.19 per cent.

To support smooth travel for electric vehicle owners over the holiday period, State Grid Smart Vehicle Internet Technology Company identified 5,294 priority charging stations situated at motorway service areas, road junctions and scenic sites.
Engineers carried out targeted equipment inspections, resolved potential faults and deployed backup charging guns.
Through the e-charging mobile application, charging guides and peak-demand forecasts for motorway journeys were released to help users plan travel routes.
Maintenance teams inspected charging facilities at the Yongning service station on the G6 Beijing–Lhasa motorway in Ningxia.
The operator produced daily forecasts for congestion levels at motorway service stations throughout the holiday. Emergency charging units were relocated dynamically across carriageways and neighbouring sections of the same route.
A video monitoring system tracked priority charging sites remotely to identify congestion and unauthorised parking. On-site staff were assigned to manage traffic flow.
Measures including extra access routes and on-site queuing systems were introduced to organise charging activity, improve utilisation of public charging infrastructure and reduce waiting times at motorway service areas.
