Web‑literature Hub Drives Rural‑economy Growth in Jingning

According to Lishui Daily, a web‑literature co‑working hub in Hongxing Sub‑district, Jingning She Autonomous County, Lishui, hosts regular literary‑evening sessions for local creative writers. The events offer practical guidance on writing craft, script adaptation, intellectual‑property development and manuscript submission.

In past years, local literary output in Jingning was mostly limited to plain‑text works. Narrow distribution channels and insufficient conversion paths prevented many original pieces from reaching wider audiences. Drawing on its local cultural heritage, the county has built a multi‑functional web‑literature co‑working hub to foster creative talent, organise cultural exchanges and promote public reading, creating a fresh development path for mountain‑county cultural sectors.

Supported by the hub, local creative content has achieved multi‑form commercial conversion. A number of original productions, including an AI‑produced intangible‑cultural‑heritage short drama and an audio book, have gained wider popularity, turning local literary creativity into tangible cultural output.

The “Literary Night Talk” series is the flagship event run by the hub. More than 60 sessions have been held so far. Screenwriters, published writers and literary editors travel to the She‑inhabited county to deliver talks and give hands‑on creative guidance, letting local creators access high‑quality industry resources without leaving the mountain area.

Occupying 3 000 square metres, the hub combines literary exhibition space, an urban reading room, project incubation facilities and vocational‑training zones. Apart from conventional reading zones such as tiered‑seating reading areas, children’s picture‑book sections and a literary café, digital‑reading set‑ups using audio‑book hardware have also been installed to serve public‑reading initiatives. New reading‑themed group activities are due to roll out around the National Day holiday to boost public engagement with reading.

The whole upstream and downstream industrial chain centred on web‑literature now records an annual output value of more than 40 million yuan in Jingning. Over 300 posts have been created for returning migrant workers, marking a practical example of digital‑culture‑led rural‑revitalisation work in mountainous regions.
