Tongling Nonferrous posts steady growth in H1 2026 with industrial upgrading and green transformation advances
Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group has delivered solid operational growth across the first half of 2026, advancing quality-oriented improvements in production, operation, reform and innovation while fully implementing its annual development targets. Core operational indicators have registered stable year-on-year increases amid sustained industrial optimisation.
The group achieved a 15.03% year-on-year rise in total profits during the six-month period. Output of key products including cathode copper and sulphuric acid increased by 16.96% and 15.84% respectively compared with the same period of the previous year, reflecting robust momentum in core manufacturing capabilities and market adaptation.
Synergistic development across three major business segments has underpinned the company’s improved performance. In the mining sector, the enterprise has capitalised on favourable market conditions by optimising mining and beneficiation management, expanding resource exploration and enhancing recovery efficiency, enabling core mines including Dongqingshan Copper Mine to deliver sound operational results.
The smelting segment has unlocked greater operational potential through refined raw material proportioning and targeted technological upgrades. Continuous process optimisation has lifted the comprehensive metal recovery rate, bringing about all-round improvements in profitability and operational stability. The new materials division has prioritised iterative upgrading of high-end product lines. Breakthroughs in core manufacturing technologies for high-end copper foil and high-strength high-conductivity copper alloys have allowed these premium products to enter the supply chains of leading domestic and international enterprises, further consolidating the group’s market competitiveness in high-value non-ferrous materials.
Sustained investment in scientific and technological innovation has strengthened the group’s long-term development foundations. The enterprise injected 2.81 billion yuan into research and development in the first half of 2026, marking a 5.2% year-on-year increase. It continues to advance the construction of national-level innovation platforms and deepen industry-university-research collaboration with prestigious institutions including University of Science and Technology Beijing.

Focused on intelligent mining, green smelting, high-end new materials and scattered metal recycling, the group has pushed forward targeted research on core technologies. A series of critical technical breakthroughs have been realised in key areas such as intelligent operation in kilometre-deep mines and high-end copper foil preparation, laying solid technical support for subsequent intelligent and high-end industrial iteration.
Notable progress has been made in green and low-carbon transformation. The group has coordinated technological innovation, energy conservation optimisation and environmental upgrading, rolling out effective low-carbon measures including waste heat utilisation and green power trading. Its carbon emission intensity per unit of added value dropped by 12.81% year-on-year in the first half of the year. Two subsidiaries, Jiuhua New Materials and Jintong Copper Industry, have obtained the national green factory certification, recognising the enterprise’s compliant and low-carbon production capabilities.
Moving forward, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group will continue to deepen industrial structure optimisation, scale up technological innovation and accelerate green low-carbon upgrading. The coordinated development of its three core business segments will be further enhanced, with continuous technological breakthroughs and product iteration expected to expand its high-end market presence and consolidate sustainable development advantages in the global non-ferrous metal industry.
