Hubei Transport Investment Unveils Hubei’s First Transport AI Large Model ‘Jingchu Xing’

According to China Transport News, Hubei Communications Investment Group formally launched Jingchu Xing on 30 June, marking the first artificial intelligence large-scale model tailor-made for the transport sector across Hubei Province.

The model delivers deployable capabilities covering road network dispatching, pavement maintenance, engineering construction, public travel services and financial risk control. It achieves precision detection of road defects down to 0.1 millimetres, while its AI event recognition algorithm registers an accuracy rate above 95 per cent. Processing times for safety hazard response have been condensed from multi-hour cycles to minutes, with real-world validation completed on slope monitoring along the Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway and construction works in mountainous bridge and tunnel zones.

Built upon a repository of 3.18 billion full-spectrum highway operational datasets and a 70P self-developed domestic computing cluster, the system incorporates eighty-three specialised intelligent agents to form a layered digital framework labelled “1+5+X”. Two complementary digital products have been rolled out alongside the core AI model.

The E-Lu Changtong · Jingchu Xing smart mobility platform links into the national E-Lu Changtong system operated by the Ministry of Transport. It aggregates multi-source data streams including real-time road conditions, charging pile availability, ETC services, roadside rescue coordination and service station amenities, enabling integrated online processing for all highway-related public services.

Qianmotong, the digital management suite for expressway construction, integrates digital twin mapping, AR handheld terminals and unmanned aerial vehicle inspection workflows. The integrated toolset lifts overall project administration efficiency fivefold and cuts construction-phase management expenditure by one fifth.

Hubei Communications Investment Group will carry out iterative upgrades to its matrix of intelligent agents in the period ahead. Cross-provincial road network data coordination channels will be established to expand integrated services blending artificial intelligence and transport infrastructure. Complete sets of digital operational solutions will be offered to external partners, with digital intelligence acting as a core enabler for building Hubei into a strategic pivot of the central China growth strategy.
