Zhangye Rail-road Logistics Park Accelerates Construction to Boost Northwest China’s Logistics Connectivity

Construction of a key multimodal logistics hub is advancing rapidly in Zhangye, Gansu Province, strengthening northwest China’s modern logistics system and supporting regional high-quality economic growth. Developed by Gansu International Logistics Group, the Zhangye rail-road logistics park serves as a pivotal infrastructure project that fills local logistics gaps and integrates road-rail combined transport with land-sea logistics linkage.

Intensive construction work is underway across the project site during the prime summer construction window. On-site machinery operates continuously while construction teams carry out orderly operations for enclosed warehouse main structures and supporting facilities. All working procedures progress in an orderly and compact manner to speed up overall project delivery.

The project covers a land area of 527 mu with a total investment of 600 million yuan. It adopts a systematic layout featuring one core zone, one comprehensive service centre and five functional districts, covering railway logistics operation, information services, cold chain warehousing, cargo processing and international freight train services. The diversified functional design supports full-process, modern and integrated logistics operations.

Upon full completion, the hub will radiate across Gansu and surrounding northwest regions, effectively consolidating scattered local logistics resources and smoothing regional transportation corridors. The project is projected to generate annual operating revenue exceeding one billion yuan and annual tax profits of over 15 million yuan. It will directly and indirectly create more than 1,000 local jobs, delivering substantial benefits to resident income growth.

The new logistics hub will optimise regional transportation structures and cut comprehensive logistics costs for local enterprises. Improved logistics efficiency will drive the clustering of upstream and downstream industrial chains and facilitate the upgrading of traditional local industries. It will further consolidate Zhangye’s position as a vital logistics node on the northwest transportation network.

Relevant local authorities will strictly follow construction standards and progress timelines to steadily advance subsequent engineering works. Continuous optimisation of facility functions and operational mechanisms will build a highly efficient, fully functional and widely influential regional rail-road logistics centre to sustain long-term regional economic vitality.
