“Yuehu” Green Logistics Line Launched, Linking Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Yangtze River Delta
Recently, several electric heavy-duty trucks and L4-level autonomous driving heavy-duty trucks departed from China National Foreign Trade Transportation (Sinotrans) Guangzhou Logistics Park, a subsidiary of China Merchants Group, marking the official launch of the “Yuehu” Green Logistics Line. This new logistics product connects the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with the Yangtze River Delta, setting a new benchmark for green and intelligent logistics in China.
China News Service reports that China Merchants Group, a key state-owned enterprise with a history of over 140 years, has long been committed to promoting the transformation and upgrading of the logistics industry, focusing on green development and intelligent innovation. Sinotrans, a subsidiary of the group, ranks fifth in global freight forwarding services and sixth in global third-party logistics, boasting a comprehensive logistics service network covering the whole country and linking the world.

The “Yuehu” Green Logistics Line stretches 1,500 kilometers, starting from the Greater Bay Area, directly reaching the Yangtze River Delta, and radiating core cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Suzhou. In the past, this highway freight corridor has long been plagued by high fuel consumption, large carbon emissions and volatile costs, which hindered the high-quality development of regional logistics.
To address these pain points, the “Yuehu” Green Logistics Line adopts new energy electric heavy-duty trucks to build a zero-carbon green road transportation corridor. It relies on the expressway energy supplement network along the route to realize green power supply, ensuring stable door-to-door delivery time of 28 hours, which effectively improves logistics efficiency and reduces operational costs.
People’s Network notes that the autonomous driving heavy-duty trucks applied in the “Yuehu” Green Logistics Line can realize autonomous lane changing, car following and obstacle avoidance in highway scenarios, with a response speed of milliseconds, which significantly reduces safety risks. The vehicles are linked with the fleet management system in real time, allowing real-time checking of cargo location, estimated arrival time and other information, enhancing the transparency of logistics services.
Equipped with a carbon footprint calculator independently developed by China Merchants Group, the line can generate order carbon emission reports, helping customers achieve carbon emission management and meet green development needs. It adopts a “fixed point, fixed time, fixed price and online” model, providing more reliable logistics services with more controllable capacity, more stable operation and more transparent freight rates.
Currently, the “Yuehu” Green Logistics Line is operating smoothly, effectively promoting the efficient connection of logistics resources between the Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta. With the continuous advancement of green and intelligent transformation in the logistics industry, the line is expected to further optimize its service layout, expand its radiation scope, and upgrade its technical level in the future.
It will continue to rely on advanced technologies and a complete service network to reduce carbon emissions, improve logistics efficiency, and provide strong support for the integrated development of the two major economic zones, as well as the high-quality development of China’s logistics industry and the realization of the dual carbon goals.
