Chongqing-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway Starts Full-Line Track-Laying
The full-line track-laying project of the newly-built Chongqing-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as Chongqing-Wanzhou HSR) was officially launched on April 3rd, marking a key milestone in the construction of the line.

According to Xinhua News Agency reports, the subgrade, bridges, tunnels and other off-line projects of the Chongqing-Wanzhou HSR have now been basically completed.
The station buildings and the "four electrical systems" project (power supply, power transformation, communication and signaling) are progressing in an orderly manner in accordance with the schedule.
The on-schedule launch of the track-laying phase signifies that the project has fully shifted from off-line to on-line construction, laying a solid foundation for the line to open to traffic as scheduled.
As an important part of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Haikou and Beijing-Kunming corridors in China’s "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, the Chongqing-Wanzhou HSR starts from Chongqing East Station and ends at Wanzhou North Station.
With a main line length of 251 kilometers, the railway is designed to operate at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
On April 3rd, workers were busy with track-laying operations at the construction site of the Chongqing-Wanzhou HSR. Some operated track-laying machines to lay rails efficiently, while others carried out supporting work to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
A series of aerial photos taken by drones on the same day showed the grand scale of the track-laying site, with construction vehicles and workers closely cooperating to promote the project steadily. All photos were taken by Tang Yi, a reporter from Xinhua News Agency.
