China’s Zhongzihuan Automobile Company Launches New Auto Recycling and Reuse Model

Recently, Zhongzihuan Automobile Company, a subsidiary of China Resources Recycling Group Co., Ltd., has completed its first batch of end-of-life vehicle recycling operations. In collaboration with dismantling enterprises, the company has carried out refined dismantling of the vehicles and quality inspection and reuse of recyclable parts, marking the official entry of its new recycling model into the practical stage.

The first batch of end-of-life vehicles was sourced from insurance companies. After being recycled by Zhongzihuan Automobile Company, the vehicles entered the refined dismantling process, where eligible recyclable parts such as vehicle lights and air conditioning control panels were put to high-value use, maximizing the resource potential of discarded vehicles.

In recent years, with the rapid growth of China’s motor vehicle ownership, the end-of-life vehicle recycling and dismantling industry has experienced fast development. Since its establishment, Zhongzihuan Automobile Company has actively explored new models for motor vehicle recycling, addressing the challenge of securing a stable supply of end-of-life vehicles.

The company has joined hands with governments, original equipment manufacturers, dismantling enterprises and relevant central enterprises to build a full-chain recycling system, forming a supply channel covering multiple vehicle types and regions. This system effectively supports the efficient release of downstream dismantling capacity and lays a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the recycling industry.

Meanwhile, in cooperation with insurance companies, Zhongzihuan Automobile Company has focused on two key nodes in the industrial chain — locking in vehicle sources before scrapping and transforming the value of dismantled parts after scrapping — across links including auto insurance, accident vehicle disposal and parts reuse. This innovative business model has restructured the motor vehicle recycling chain, promoting more efficient and value-adding resource circulation.

Building on the success of its first batch of end-of-life vehicle recycling operations, Zhongzihuan Automobile Company plans to further improve its new motor vehicle recycling model in the future. It will roll out replicable operational standards throughout the entire process and integrate high-quality resources from upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, with the core link of “vehicle source collection — recyclable parts circulation — recycled material trading”.

This initiative not only promotes the sustainable development of the end-of-life vehicle recycling industry but also contributes to China’s efforts in building a waste recycling system, advancing green and low-carbon development through efficient resource reuse.
