China Development Bank has successfully issued a three-year green financial bond worth 12 billion yuan via the Shanghai Clearing House on 5 March, with an issuance rate of 1.55 per cent and a subscription multiple of 3.01 times.

To date, the cumulative value of green financial bonds issued by the bank has reached 241.5 billion yuan.

Funds raised from the bond will be mainly allocated to the green upgrading of infrastructure, the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, the resource recycling industry and the energy conservation and carbon reduction sector.

Once completed, the relevant projects are expected to save 254,700 tonnes of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 616,300 tonnes on an annual basis.

The transaction reflects steady progress in China’s green finance system and supports the long-term shift toward sustainable and low-carbon economic growth.
