Jixin Yellow River Bridge Deck Connects in Henan Province

The Jixin Yellow River Bridge, a groundbreaking marvel that stands as the world’s first ground-anchored rotating cable suspension bridge and the largest-span bridge in Henan Province, was connected with the successful hoisting of the final deck segment on July 31.

Spanning a remarkable 1,688.5 meters, this architectural feat constructed by the First Engineering Co., Ltd. of CTCE Group under China Railway Engineering Co., Ltd., boasts a main span of 555 meters.

To minimize environmental impact on the riverbanks and waterbody, an innovative design combining a single-tower structure with ground-anchored rotating cables was adopted. This engineering solution significantly enhances both the bridge’s spanning capacity and structural stability.

The Jiyuan-Xin’an Expressway runs 47.961 kilometers from Shaoyuan Town in Jiyuan City to Tiemen Town in Luoyang’s Xin’an County, connecting with major expressways including Lianyungang-Khorgos and Xin’an-Yichuan. It is expected to open by the end of this year, reducing travel time between both banks of the Yellow River from two hours to just twenty minutes.
